From the Army to Real Estate: How Marc Yañez Found His Mission Through Rehab Warriors

For Marc Yañez, the end of military service wasn’t the end of his purpose—it was the beginning of a new mission.

After serving nine years in the Army, Marc knew he had the discipline, leadership, and work ethic to thrive in civilian life. But like many veterans, he faced a tough question: How do I turn everything I’ve learned into something meaningful in the real world?

Rehab Warriors became the answer.

A Program That Met Him Where He Was

Marc came to Rehab Warriors not just as a veteran—but as a father, a provider, and someone with real-world experience and skills. He needed a program that didn’t just offer basic training—it had to offer flexibility, support, and a clear path forward.

“Rehab Warriors enabled me to get educated remotely during the Related Training & Instruction (RTI) phase and the on-the-job training (OJT) phase,” Marc shared. “That was a pivotal opportunity for a veteran like me with a family looking to grow in the real estate industry.”

That accessibility made all the difference. It allowed Marc to learn on his schedule, while applying what he was learning in real-time. The model of combining remote learning with job site experience wasn’t just convenient—it was transformative.

Week 5: Where It All Clicked

Among the many modules in the Rehab Warriors curriculum, one stood out.

“Specifically, in Week 5—Project Management—construction management and procurement were some of the most valuable education lessons I used in a practical aspect at ICON Homes,” Marc said. “I was working in the Purchasing department, where I created purchase orders for vendors and subcontractors.”

This was the power of our hands-on training model in action. The curriculum wasn’t theoretical—it was designed for real-world impact. As Marc worked, he was learning. And as he learned, he was building confidence and momentum.

From Army Skills to Construction Site Strategy

Marc’s transition into the field wasn’t just supported by what he learned in the program. He brought with him a toolbox built in the military—skills that seamlessly translated into leadership on the job site.

Logistics Coordination – Resource Allocation
Military: Ensuring the right supplies, personnel, and equipment are in the right place at the right time.
Real Estate Project Management: Planning jobs, managing materials, and aligning teams for efficient execution.

Project Management
Military: Managing tasks under pressure with limited resources.
Real Estate Project Management: Assigning the right team members and tools to each task, tracking budgets and timelines.

Briefings and Reports – Communication
Military: Giving clear, concise briefings to superiors and subordinates.
Real Estate Project Management: Communicating status updates, roadblocks, and wins to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This mindset allowed Marc not only to contribute but to lead—bringing structure, clarity, and confidence to every task.

Proud Moments and Real Results

All of this came together in one pivotal moment—a moment that confirmed Marc had made the right decision, and that Rehab Warriors had truly prepared him to thrive.

“My proudest moment was seeing what I learned throughout my entire training with the Rehab Warriors come to fruition operating as a purchasing agent at ICON Custom Homes,” he said. “Specifically, I learned valuable information from the BuilderTrend platform that helped me operate with ease.”

It wasn’t just about securing a job. It was about showing up with the skills, systems, and support to make an impact on day one.

A Future Built on a Strong Foundation

Today, Marc continues to build on the foundation he gained through Rehab Warriors—not just for himself, but for the future of his community.

“Rehab Warriors has given me valuable education that has created a foundation for my future in the real estate industry,” he said. “It’s something I plan on taking back home to help my community.”

That’s the mission now: to not only grow personally, but to create opportunities for others—especially fellow veterans—who are ready to turn their service into something lasting.

This Is What Transformation Looks Like

Marc Yañez’s journey is what Rehab Warriors is all about.

A veteran with the courage to take the next step.
A program designed to turn potential into leadership.
A pathway to purpose, success, and long-term impact.

Marc didn’t just find a job—he found clarity, confidence, and a future worth fighting for. And for every veteran out there wondering what’s next, his story is proof: you already have what it takes. You just need the right launchpad.

Rehab Warriors is that launchpad.
